SHOW RECAP - IPMS ST. John's 2018 Model Show and Competition

Hi Folks,

All the pictures are in and we wanted to proudly announce the winners and their work from the Show for everyone to see.

We saw a lot of very fine work on the tables and while everyone can not win a prize, everyone is a winner for their effort and dedication to the hobby, and for putting themselves into the competition.

We also want to give a huge THANKS to the Show Sponsors, especially the companies that provided the Category prizes:

Meeting Summary Sept 4, 2018

Tonight was swap night, and quite a few kits changed hands. Just like Christmas 😊

There were a few pieces of work on the table tonight, some people were busy over the summer!

Cory – When it comes to aircraft, 1/72 is Cory’s bag. He brought in his P-39 Airocobra

Jessica recently completed her first build, a Gundam figure. Nicely done! We look forward to seeing more.

Steve F - As always a collection of aircraft from various nationalities. There is an evolutionary theme from a chronological point of view from the Russian and American sides.

Rod C – Rod has been a busy boy with several pieces finished over the summer. His captured Britch WWI tank in German Markings, his miniature T-34, Tiger I and Sherman tanks, and his Star Wars Tie fighter in Luftwaffe markings. Eclectic collection!

Joe – New pieces, Bronco M-24 Chaffee and Tamiya Tiger I. Also a previously complete M36 Jackson for size comparison between the three. Rounded out with a Miniature Sherman from Meng (pictured with Rod C’s Sherman)

Steve F showed us his collection of Polish aircraft.
Dave B shows off a very fin finished that can be achieved with scale automobiles.
Joe G, highlights his in-progress True Details Marston Mat resin base with Spitfire for scale.
