Meeting Notes for April 6, 2021

Club Meetings 2021 - Virtual monthly meetings to continue until safe to resume actual face to face meetings. Meetings will be recorded for those not able to join on Zoom.
Club Build Competition 2021 - Instead of a Club Day and the Model Show this year, we will be holding a Competition, open to everyone in the Club only. There will be rules and there will be prizes.

Monthly Feature
Apr 2021 - Model Hobby Safety – An addon item for this month to review what we hope is things that we already do, but maybe there is one or two things that are new that we can learn from. Looking for your experiences to add to this conversation.
· Resin – Use Respirator - to prevent respiratory issues.
· CA super thin glue – Smoking hot! Watch out on paper towel or tissues! Respiratory issues as well.
· Burnishing Fluid – no metal containers like aluminum pie plates!!! It will smoke!
· Disposal of waste thinner – sealed container and dispose at recycling depot
o Use cat litter for lacquer thinner/varsol – gas out outside and dispose of.
· Eye protection (CA Glue) – uses liquid to cure, not good for the eyes.
o Debonder!!! Unsticks fingers and other skin…. or animals. MUST HAVE!
· Sharps! - Knives, saws, drill bits, picks – usage and disposal. Store used blades, etc in pill bottle or other plastic container and dispose of in the container to prevent disposal injuries.
o Cork the sharp end until used

Recommendation - Find Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) sheets and publish for all to see. These will be posted for you to review soon.
