About the club

We are a group of people who enjoy the hobby of plastic model building. Our members interests range from Aircraft, Automobiles, Ships, Figures, Armour, to Sci Fi. We have all skill levels from beginners to some pretty talented modellers, but we mainly meet to share our work, ideas, tips and techniques, and talk about modelling in general. In Attendance tonight: Craig, Steve F, Steve R, Dave, Rob, Tracie, Rodney, Dennis, Gary, Gord, Joe, Colin and Tyler. Special Guest Jarrod.

Our young friends Tyler and Colin brought some more examples of their completed and in-progress kits. These guys are gathering a wealth of knowledge and experience. I was inspired to start a car myself, but got hung up, and when I asked the guys, Tyler gave me the fix. I will be tackling that 2010 Challenger soon!

Also with Tyler and Colin - Gary, our Treasurer, gave them a tutorial on Bare Metal Foil for the chrome trim. Gary says the boys are quick studies!

Rodney brought in his completed and weathered Russian BM-21 Grad.

Gord is ramping up his skills on his Armor weathering with his test bed T-55 Tank.

Craig is a new member to the club and has been very busy with an assortment of genres from Aircraft, to Armor, Sci-Fi and figures. Add a ship and a car, and you got them all! That 25 Pounder is going to be a 166 (NFld) Field Regiment example.

Dennis brought in what would look like plastic models from several Sci-Fi shows, but in fact are functional model rockets. Nice job!

Steve F brought in some kits from his extensive build history. Three Blenheims – Tw MK I’s and a Mk IV.

Joe brought in his latest Spitfire, Johnnie Johnson’s later Spitfire Mk IXc that Johnson used from March 1944 to March 1945, with which he scored the last of his 38 Victories.

Look for another entry to hear about our special guest.

In the meantime, KEEP BUILDING!
See you next month!
