About the club

We are a group of people who enjoy the hobby of plastic model building. Our members interests range from Aircraft, Automobiles, Ships, Figures, Armour, to Sci Fi. We have all skill levels from beginners to some pretty talented modellers, but we mainly meet to share our work, ideas, tips and techniques, and talk about modelling in general. Small crowd tonight, just days after New Years.

Tonight we had two special guests, Colin and Tyler, two young fellers who have been coming to our show for a few years. They came in to show us what they had completed in the last two months. These guys can pump them out!

Here is some of their work.
Colin said that he completed 40 Car models in 2015 alone!
Guys, you are welcome back any time! Keep Building!

Mike to build Westland AW101 Helicopter. Mike recently picked up the Italeri AW101 patterned after the James Bond Skyfall version. Hope to see that done soon!

Steve F Cromwell Bridge Layer – Steve brought in his Churchill Bridge Layer. It is fully articulating mimicking the real one article on how it deploys its bridge.

See you next month!

Merry Christmas!!!!

IPMS St. John’s NL wants to wish Club members and model builders world wide a very Merry Christmas season and hopes for a very Happy New Year.

We have seen our Club grow this year in numbers and interest. We have also seen some fabulous work created and shown at our meetings and shared by friends of the Club on our Facebook page. Thanks for all the conversations and photos. We hope to see even more in the new year.

I hope Santa is very good to everyone, I hope there is a lot of plastic in his bag, and I hope the downtime from work over the holidays allows for some extra build time.

Stay safe, be happy, and keep building!!!!!

See you next year!
Joe

We had our Election of Officers, our existing Executive were re-elected.
The Club voted officially to hold a Show in Oct 2016, more to come on that later!

Russell: Ship, FW 190, T72
We met Russell at the show with his in-progress T72. He came back to show us that it is now complete and ready for paint. Well done, can’t wait to see it at the next step, keep at it, you are doing great! He also showed us his 1/32 FW190. Beautiful interior! Also great work on the Ship that I didn’t copy the name down on :( Great diversity Russell, Awesome skills!

Rod: Submarine, Battlestar Gallactica (1978), DC10” Rod is also new to the Club, you may have seen his EPA 737, his Gov of NL CL-215 Water bomber posted on our site a month or so ago. Seriously good! He brought in his rusted min sub, His Battlestar Galalctica and KLM DC-10. Rod is more than an OOB guy, and I have seen what he has in his stash. Looking forward to seeing some of that built!

Gord: T54 Weathering Project; Gord took this “legacy” kit and is using it as a test bed for weathering. Looking good so far! Don’t be afraid to go for it!
